If you were the last person not to be aware of that fact, the royal baby is born. The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, gave birth to the Prince of Cambridge on July 22nd, 2013.
It suddenly made me think about the depiction of royal infants through art history. I was apparently not alone. Jonathan Jones dedicated an article in the Guardian to this subject matter: How to paint a royal baby: why we need a new kind of portrait this time. He picked Paula Rego as the artist who should take on this task.
